MYFL Cheer FAQ:
Q: Who can cheer?
A: Anyone from 4 years old to 6th grade.
Q: Does my child have to try out?
A: Nope! We want everyone to be a part of this amazing experience.
Q: When do we practice?
A: Practices are held Monday- Friday at coach's discretion. Practices for special events such as "Cheer Extravaganza" can be held Monday-Sunday.
Q: How long will practice last?
A: The minimum amount of practice hours per week is 1 hour. The maximum amount of practice is 6 hours per week. It is up to the individual cheer coach/coaches to decide how they would like to break the hours up. We always try and accommodate a practice schedule that runs concurrent with football practices for siblings but there is no guarantee.
Q: When are games?
A: Games are held on Saturday. Season starts in August and goes through November of each year.
Q: What will my child be doing in cheerleading?
A: There are choreographed cheers, a dance for half-time, stunting and jumping. Tumbling is permitted with previous experience. MYFL Cheer coaches do not teach tumbling.
Q: What does my registration fees cover?
A: Camp shirts, 2 bows (regular season and pink out), and additional items needed for each team i.e. pink out socks, water bottles, chairs, spirit sticks and homecoming supplies. (This has previously been the $50/athlete cost to the team). Coaches will provide a breakdown of the costs/money spent.
Q: Is the uniform fitting mandatory?
A: YES, the uniform fitting is mandatory for all cheerleaders and there are no make-up dates. The schedule is posted months in advance so please plan accordingly. We have sample items for try-on to minimize sizing issues/alterations.
Q: Does MYFL offer payment plans for the uniform?
A: YES!! Please email us at [email protected] to get more information in regards to a payment plan. All payments must be completed by June 1, 2024 in order for us to place an order for your child's uniform.
Uniform Costs: $330.00
Includes: Shell, Skirt, body liner, briefs, backpack, megaphone, regular poms and a pink out pom.
You may purchase individual pieces as needed.
**No registrants will be accepted after May 15, 2024. There are absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS due to the amount of time the uniform manufacturers take to make the uniforms.
**Before registering your child please note that there are NO REFUNDS for the cost of registration as we are a non-profit organization.
